With a French mother and Montenegrin father (who speaks four languages), I was brought up in a multi-lingual household. At 16, I could speak fluent English, partly as a result of numerous trips to the United States, and Italian, since I used to visit the country often as part of my ice skating training (I was French champion in 1981). Later, I studied both languages in more detail during secondary and tertiary education, as well as learning Spanish, in order to complete a postgraduate course in Madrid.
My highly-developed linguistic abilities and interest in different European cultures led me naturally to a career in international trade. Because of my specialization in finance and financial markets at the Toulouse Business School I was hired by LOUIS DREYFUS SA as a Trader. The finance world became quickly a passion for me but then, after 9 years (5 in Paris and 4 in Madrid) I grew tired of the status of a salaried employee and felt the need to stand on my own two feet.

In 2004, I launched my own business – two retail beachwear outlets – in Mojácar, Andalucía, an international resort catering to Spanish, British, French, Italian and Northern European visitors.
At the same time, I became increasingly involved in translating for local service companies to the point where I decided to hive off the retail business and devote myself full-time to translation.
My professional experience as a trader led me naturally towards the financial translation and it is with great interest that I came back to that agitated world for which I had always kept a personal interest.
